We welcome you to the Science Digital Diplomacy session June 16, 9-11 am

The program will cover a range of approaches, case studies and future opportunities that diplomacy can unleash for the potential for the Europe and Africa collaboration in Science and Innovation

Digital Cooperation and Diplomacy will be needed to make sure we have one Internet, which continues to bring increasing benefits and includes guardrails to increase safety and prevent and reduce harms. The world has seen the benefits of being able to continue to operate online even when face to face activities are stopped due to the Covid Pandemic - so there is little dispute about whether to digitize. The question now is whether we can do so in a way that allows for participation by all, balancing how we, together can steward our planet, our people, preserving peace, propagating prosperity. In this Session, we will look at how using common digital building blocks, agreed to financial protocols can allow us to build resilient communities. By tracking digital footprints to finance communities, SME's and infrastructure - follow on lending and investment can be made conditional on advancing the UN SDG's and ongoing compliance to Clean IT and Carbon reduction principles.

Invited speeches (10 minutes each) will be followed by a Panel discussion
