Luci Abrahams (PhD, Wits) is Director of the LINK Centre at Wits University
https://www.wits.ac.za/linkcentre/, building research on digital innovation, how digital technologies and processes influence change, and on human-centred digital transformation. Studies include: digital skills gap analysis and implementation; digital government strategy; scaling up innovation in tech hubs and open access in scholarly publishing (OpenAIR); and health e-services improvement (Egypt-South Africa research partnership). Luci convenes the MA and PhD programmes in Interdisciplinary Digital Knowledge Economy Studies, supervising research topics on applications of dynamic software in mathematics education, biopower, cybersecurity, digitalisation in public services, digitalisation in universities, fintech, smart cities, smart transport, and other topics. She convenes short courses on disruptive technologies, digital operations and leadership, and teaches research methods for cybersecurity professional practice. She participates in The Open African Innovation Research network (Open AIR) and is a CyberBRICS associated scholar. Luci is the Corresponding Editor for The African Journal of Information and Communication, indexed in the SciELO Citation Index. She currently serves on the Board of TENET. She has previously served on various Boards and Committees, including the Board of the National Research Foundation and the Ministerial Review Panel on the Science Technology and Innovation Institutional Landscape. In the period 2003 to 2008, she was Chairperson of the Science Engineering and Technology for Women (SET4W), a committee of the National Advisory Council on Innovation (NACI), and a Council Member of NACI 1999 – 2009.
