Nicky Wako Advocacy and Donor Engagement Manager for AfricaConnect 3 Project, GÉANT. Nicky Wako joined GÉANT and the AfricaConnect 3 to helm the Advocacy and Donor engagements Activities. Before pivoting to the National Research and Education Network sector, Nicky spent 12 years in public policy, working in grassroots civil society organisations, international NGOs, and multilateral diplomacy. Leveraging her strong background and the lessons gained from managing multistakeholder engagements enables her to cultivate multisector synergies for the African NRENs and scientific community to expand the conversation into no traditional ecosystems. Nicky unapologetically champions Africa’s research and technology community to better the African Continent.
