Nabin Raj Gaihre is a co-founder of
Village Data Analytics (VIDA). VIDA uses remote sensing data and machine learning-based algorithms to support data-driven decision-making in rural parts of the world. Nabin leads VIDA's application in several sub-Saharan African countries to identify villages for rural electrification using decentralized and renewable energy technologies. He has been engaging directly with Development Financing Institutions, government bodies, and private sector companies in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Lesotho, Mozambique, Colombia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, etc. Using VIDA, Nabin works for clients such as The World Bank Group, Government of Sierra Leone, Rural Electrification Agency in Nigeria, PowerGen, Africa GreenTec, BBOXX, etc.
Nabin is originally from Nepal but is currently based in Germany. He has an M.Sc. in Power Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, with a focus on Rural Electrification. Nabin has close to 10 years of experience in research, data analysis, and rural development.
